Feminine Hygiene Kits Service Project Sewing Night with the YW
On February 19, 2014 we had a sewing night with the Young Women. We were able to get a lot of sewing done for the feminine hygiene kits service project. Our goal is to have 100 completed kits! Each kit is compiled in a cute drawstring bag and contains: 2 fabric "envelopes," 12 fabric pads and a ziplock bag. The completed kits will be sent to Sister Laurel Bingham's sister. From there her sister will take them to Ethiopia and the kits will be distributed to girls and classes will be taught on hygiene and how to clean/wash the pads and envelopes. This service project enables girls to continue to stay in school once they've started their period.
