Visiting Teaching
Dear Visiting Teacher,
This lovely flower has come to say,
Someone missed you the other day.
She waited as the month slipped by,
And disappointed, she wondered why.
She missed the cheer your visit brings,
The won't-you-let-me-help-you, ' things.
She missed the sunny little chat,
Of life and love, and this and that.
Don't let this month come to it's end
Without that visit to your friend.
Stretch forth your heart and hands to reach
To that dear sister that you teach.

Marriage is Ordained of God
“Marriage between a man and a woman is a vital part of God’s plan. The Lord has said, ‘Whoso forbiddeth to marry is not ordained of God, for marriage is ordained of God unto man’ (D&C 49:15). Adam and Eve were married by God before there was any death in the world. They had an eternal marriage. They taught the law of eternal marriage to their children and their children’s children. As the years passed, wickedness entered the hearts of the people and the authority to perform this sacred ordinance was taken from the earth. Through the Restoration of the gospel, eternal marriage has been restored to earth.”

Establishing a Christ-Centered Home

Family Responsibilities
“Each person has an important place in his or her family. Through prophets the Lord has explained how fathers, mothers, and children should behave and feel toward one another. As husbands, wives, and children, we need to learn what the Lord expects us to do to fulfill our purpose as a family. If we all do our part, we will be united eternally.
Some responsibilities must be shared by the husband and the wife. Parents should teach their children the gospel. The Lord warned that if parents do not teach their children about faith, repentance, baptism, and the gift of the Holy Ghost, the sin will be upon the heads of the parents. Parents should also teach their children to pray and to obey the Lord’s commandments. (See D&C 68:25, 28.)”

The Family: A Proclamation to the World
“Eternal life means to become like the Father and to live in families in happiness and joy forever, so of course we know that what he wants for us will require help beyond our powers. And if we have feelings of inadequacy, they can make it easier for us to repent and to be ready to rely on the Lord’s help. The fact that the proclamation is applicable to all the world—applicable to every person and government in it—gives us assurance that we need not be overwhelmed with our feelings of inadequacy. Whoever we are, however difficult our circumstances, we can know that what our Father requires of us if we are to qualify for the blessings of eternal life will not be beyond our ability. What a young boy said long ago when he faced a seemingly impossible assignment is true: ‘I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them’ (1 Ne. 3:7).”
